3-23-39 Lupinus truncatus Nutt J523; M250 Fl. young fr. with above. Seems only poor in M. and agreed well with desc. except as to numbers of fles. 30-40 at least on each of the 2 spec. &cfl. Also abut- tion on upper edge of leaf does not extend all the way to apex. Fls rather dull purplish-blue, the spots standard somewhat paler v dull. Lfts often very def. truncate at tip, sometime emarginate, sometimes with northwistial notch. St. very hollow. [? 4-3-39 Fl. Mt. Solada. Fls at top of raceme purplish; those below def maroon-red] [see 5-1-39 3-23-39 Oligomeris linifolia Moeb J642; M2/10 Fl. v ade. fr. Perhaps with Lupinus is not far from coast. 3-23-39 Euphorbia polycarpa Renth J600; M 288 Fl. Prob near Salix. Exactly as desc. 3-23-39 Rhamnus crocea Nutt J615; M299 Fl only found. Label Hodges near Peoria. Largest fl 11x8mm. (I. callotio "Red-Berry" but it is not the "Red Berry" Mr. G. print- ed out 3-11-39 (if R.B.K understood correctly) as that slreet- had oppo. trigovlvo. [6-17-39 Fr. Torrento Rdin hills & easte ern part. Spinose branchless size fles prove it is not variety. Fls 5mm. Nutlets 2.
