(B) ?? Flv very young fr. Perhaps near (A). 4½ in high. very delicate looking plant. Has general look of greatly reduced species. Fr. in all respects except its two clasping, the tiny st. its linear v dense. Fla. (2 open, 2 buds) with sepals 3.5mm; petals 4 mm not recurved. 3-23-39 Petunia parviflora Torr J888; M459 Fl. alv. fr. Perhaps near Salix. But do not open well in house but all else well seen (20x) even to white "spot" on corolla (T). Calyx about 6mm overall 3-23-39 Eulobus Californicus Nutt J687; Oenothera leptocarpa Greene M340 Flv young fr. Near Salix (same as Dr H vainly climbed to get). But did not open well in house but clear seen. Plant light green (st glance no - not mentioned by Max T). Stamens as desc (T). The 4 orange-colored lobes of dials (st with petals) very plain (20x) but no pubescence found in calyx tube (M) - not mentioned by (T). Plant has few inconspicuous hairs* [3-29 Fl. well opened shows clear beautifully but still no pubescence in calyx tube. Corolla 1.8cm diam. Ollert pod 8.5 cm.] [8-8-39 Flv fr. Plant 5 ft tall. Vacant lot. Pacific Beach. Purple dots on seeds. 3-23-39 Paeonia Brownii Dougl. J373; M170 Fl. Lake Hodges (at point where we turned back)
