3-23-39 Strepstanthus heterophyllus Nutt J417: Caulanthus (A) - Payson M 188& Fl. very young fr. R' near Lake Hodges -> R.S.Fe'. To 15 in all. Lower part of st. lower lvs linear; upper part [?] & upper lvs glabrous. All but lowest st. lvs entire, strongly angittate clasping, 2cm. long, very narrow. The pendent, bell-like, purple fls have no effect & a crucifer at first glance. Petals yellowish-greenish (not "white" J.) Strongly purplereined, blade narrow, recurved.
