The 2 spec. so close branches intermingled v other evidence makes R.B.K reasonably sure they're same species Scales brown, long hairy. Stamens 2 (vasese). Capsules glabrous. A few old lvs on bush narrowly oblong 65 x 1cm. New lvs appearing on both spec. Promoted to be lanceolate Old lvs very flat, edges slightly serrate - early revolute making lf look broadly crenate [6-7-39 No fls & Near Sorento R.R. Station. Lvs very like ill McM. + 3-23-39 Anagallis arvensis L. J 756; M 372 Fls & fs. With above. + 3-29-39 Datura meteloides DC J 887; M 458 (See D.—Dune) R.M. & C.P. 664 Flv old fs. Near Salix velsewhere. Plants mostly spreading + flat on ground. "lanceolate leaf" & calyx tip sometimes apparent but calyx tip often splits into 2 divisions only. 3-29-39 Epilobium Californicum Haenschen J 670; M 334 Flv alv. fs. Near Salix. InfL. not glandular. Sts to 18 in. all, very lfy. Lowest lvs narrow'd. Eldest horizontal branches just above base look as tho they might serve purpose of runners (these branches just like it, in no way
