purple bracts. But heads contain only ? fls with white
Corollas. Herbage not at all "silvery-silky". Lack of ? fls
prevents further evidence as to Tribe.)
Asbet. B. viminea v B. glutinosa: Our spec very like
ill (M); but mostly "sparsely denticulate" (J), "inermi-
ciously 3-nerved" (M), dull green v not glutinosa.

Teps J 684: O. cheiranthifolia Harmer var. suffructi-
cosa. Wats. Fl v old fs. Mission Beach, frequent. Very
scrate but old fs def. quadrangular.
3-6-39 Franseria bipinnatifida Nutt. J 1107; M 545 F8
v young fs. Mission Beach. Very like ill (M) but as "sil-
very" as in O. cheiranthifolia var suff. [6-3-39 Flufs. Mission
Beach Fs, now purple.
3-6-39 ?? Abronia maritima Nutt J 337; M 148 F8.
Mission Beach. Seems no doubt & Nyctaginaceae &
nothing in TCM
in that family, no genus seems poss except Abronia
But see M 147 "stigma subglobose". Stigma in our plant
def. linear. If Abronia, then almost surely A. maritima
by desc. v close. Calyx tube (be? below hint) 12mm. Limit
almost 10mm diam. (M "limb-4mm broad" poss. refers
to breadth on one edge only, not to diam across mouth of
calyx ?) Otherwise desc. fits well enough. Still & A. vil-
losa Wats is Fig 553 2 would be good for our plant.
