Beach. 3½ to 5½ ft long, prostrate, much branched, forming
in places, dense mats (R.B.K., when collecting, assumed it
was a perennial but no perennial in Magres with the plant)
standard red or black. Wings longer than keel & fully as long
or longer than standard giving corolla a very crub-nose
effect [6-5-39 FLs. v.flo. Mission Beach. Ident. sure.

Mission Beach. Open space across street car tracks from Amuse-
ment Center. General look of plant, lf & fl. resembles it looks
like miniature of O. bistorta 3-2-39 with which cfd.
Petales 3mm long, some (at least) w/1 black spot at base.
Pods (young) quadrangular, thickest v.less alternate towards
tip and already showing tendency not to be straight.
