6-19-39 Mesembryanthemum Cult escape Flo young fr. This is the small silvery rose M. carpeting edges of walk along coast in L.I. Very common in gardens. Not in B.M. or E.P. or Tur. M. Effect of plant very like somewhat like like M. nodiflorum of 6-13 but differs thus. M. nodiflorum M. ---- ? Herbaceous, many spreading Woody creeping, prominate branches from one ▼ slender st. & branches root. Poss. annual or biennial Must be perennial? Lvs die, leaving Sts. naked after Lvs clothe st making fling. Lvs ciliate at base a carpet. Not ciliate at Flo subsessile with outlending base. holotracts around young fr. Flo peduncles 1-2cm long & more slender than Flo. No ▼ to holoembraces young fr. Petales white, 4 mm or less Petales bright cerise- rose 8 mm. Young fr now 10mm high Young fr now 5mm high v & bloomie to continue smaller than M. n ---- Flo heads turn reddish Plant still green after lvs die v fall Both plants covered with fine vesicles which allow little dif (20X) Lson main branches to 17 mm. Lvs found are 10mm " linear Lvs slightly thicker & bone stiddle.
