Bristles flattened but whitish, v downwardly reflexed.
(not "red v short hairy or plumose" as desc. for S.califor
nicus). Achenes minutely roughened (20x), erect
1-2.5 cm. Infl. about half-way set T=47 v 148(J) [6-29-39
with S. Olneyi; some styles 3-cleft, others 2-cleft. Scales
"red-dotted" (G).

ing reflexed corolla lobes or 5mm if discounted.
Every lobe as though capsule would not be ovate to
conic. Calyx translucent. Scales mere ridges as desc.
(J) [7-28-39] F1 Sorrento Rd or Eriogonum fasciculatum v
Artemisia dracunculoides. Ovary def. flattened on top with
orange-colored base. Anthers conspicuous because of v-
flexed lobes of corolla. Conf with C. subinclusa 8-4-39.
