"Calyx summit very long-hairy" (J) [7-28-39] Ft. Sorento Rd, along marsh. 6-17-39 Chorizanthe Californica Gray J300; M136 Fl. Sorento Rd, dry bank in hills of northern part. Bracts conspicuious. Calyx often with a smaller 4th tooth. 6-17-39 Trichostema lanatum Benth. J863; M440 Fl. Same stretch, rid as above (See 5-25 for var denudata). Corolla 2 cm overall; stamens 4 cm. Spots on lower lip outlined in white (no yellowish cast as in var. [?] 5-25) [7-28-39] Near specimen of 6-17, Fl. Corolla more blue v tormentum white so that effect growing is less purplish. No other dif found when studied. 6-17-39 Lotus americanus Bisc. J553; M258 Fl/v adv fr. Same stretch, rid as above. Corolla 5-6mm. Fr. more 2 cm long. Sts to 4.5 dm. Calyx tube 2mm, the subulate teeth 3mm (in fl). In fr. Xitle spreading v 4mm long. 6-17-39 Scrophularia Californica Cham J906; M465 Fl. Same stretch, rid as above.
