6-13-39? Erigeron linifolius Willd J1054; M535 Fls fr. L.T. Canyon. At least 13 in high (st not st but at jared broken at or near base. Infl a panicle made up of 2-3 main st (raceme) w/6 branches below racemes with 2-6 heads; the whole infl (from base of branches) being about 3 1/2 x 2 1/2-3 inches. Heads before fully opened 5-6 mm high. Infl 4-5 mm high. ? flo many, consisting of very slender tube (3+mm) w/3-toothed limb (so short that R.B.K. would have considered heads discoid), style branches same length as lint or shorter (This rules out any poss of Conyza). Perfect fls in centers comparatively few, only slightly yellowish. Achenes linear flattened. Bracts linear- subulate; tip (slightly purplish) w/edges of inner ones narrowly sagaline. St lfy linear hairy. Stalk appress ed hairs with longer spreading hairs inter- mixed. Both kinds of fls seem fertile (if so can't be Balearis. 6-13-39 Polygonum aviculare L. J289; M131; G358. Fls fr.
