Infl a panicle made up of 2-3 main st (raceme) w/6 branches below racemes with 2-6 heads; the whole infl (from base of branches) being about 3 1/2 x 2 1/2-3 inches. Heads before fully opened 5-6 mm high. Infl 4-5 mm high. ? flo many, consisting of very slender tube (3+mm) w/3-toothed limb (so short that R.B.K. would have considered heads discoid), style branches same length as lint or shorter (This rules out any poss of Conyza). Perfect fls in centers comparatively few, only slightly yellowish. Achenes linear flattened. Bracts linear- subulate; tip (slightly purplish) w/edges of inner ones narrowly sagaline.
