6-13-39 Clephanthemum Coronarium L. J; M573; B.M.G.C.P.759 Flv young fr. L.T. Canyon. Rays whitish with def. yellow base. Cf'd with Anthemis Cotula. from nearby with much finer foliage. 6-13-39 Chaeuactis glabriuscula DC. J1124; M=567 Flv fr. L.T.Canyon. 1dim high. Branched from base v higher. Stv (vls?) still show signs of "thinly floccose". Bracts v corollae gland-puberulent. lf-seg short, blunt, narrow but rather flexy withal (i.e. appropding verte). Inv1. bracts narrowly linear with tips no different from sect b bract. Ace (v/M) distribution v pretty normal & desc. this might be var. Orcuttiana Hall. But papery paleae not "nearly equally equaling corolla" in dick fl(J), nor esp. "long" (M). Paleae 2-3 mm dten acute; usually unequed (T. sayson paleae marginal florenque). Achene dark with appressed, stiff hairo; the margin achenes halfenfolded in invol bracts. 6-13-39 Amaranthus graecizans L. J334; M146; G372 Flv fr. L.T.Canyon. St not strictly erect but not "prostrate" (M). Seeds 1tmm wide (not as much as 1.5wide) Cl. (M)v(G) vlessthan 1mm "thick" J (M). (Only this form would be G. bitoides Wats). Whids wrinkled. Sepals seem to be 3.
