Annual v def. hyaline border. Bristles several (5 counted in one case), unequal, inconspicuous (at S.), white, dorsally barbed. Using M. (from which T. differs widely on genus best question is E. Parisii Britt 7148; M68) (considering disc. v locus.) 6-13-39 Verbera prostrata R.Bs T 858; M 437 Fl valyfr. L.T. Canyon. Conspicuously hairy. Infl.bas basis gland- tipped. One apike (past fling) 1 bin. Fling portion of spike fully 10mm wide. Spike after fl-ing 5-6mm wide. Bracts as long as calyx in buds at tip of spikes but shorter as bud grows nearer fl-ing stages or later. Fl-ring scattered at lower portion, more dense above. Bracts olate, alter- uate into longial tip, 3mm long. Venipae nuflets show some cross-veins. Corolla def thice purple, 6-7mm long. Corolla sparsely hairy outside in region of thiest & inside in a ring just above antlers or in tube in vertical line behind lower lip. 6-13-39 Santucca glauca Nutt T 965: S. Coerulea Raf collected M 495 Fl.v young fr. L.T. Canyon. Note: has few new growth smoothly obvate, narrowed at base, very abruptly tipped (tipped short to merit term "acuminate") v serrate from shortly above base quite to tip. Infl.has greenish cast & pleasant odor not like S. canadensis. L. Cyprer less regularly rayed than S.C-- acc.to R.B.K's memory & C.
