R.B.K. cannot fit this to any of the yellow fld species in M. [J] says D. fp - "varying to yellow faintly shaded mixed". [Mr. Gardez says plants seen 5-20 Prob M. longiflorus Gt Grant var. linearis Grant. M476. And yellow fld a spec. in San Pasqual region likely to be hybrids] 5-25-39 Thyranocarpus lacinatus Nutt J 447; M 201 Fl. San Pasqual Grade with abov. Remains flds not enough to show char. Pods 3 mmndiam, sutics more nearly "obicular" than in all (M). 5-25-39 Aretostaphylos pungens H.B.K. J 747; Uniplx M 369 Fl. Inspiration Point. Frequent but only one fr. found. Exactly as desc. as far as this stage shows. except some lvs. obtuse (always mucronate) at apex. Fls. still mostly green in color tho' beginning to turn. Nutlets now separable. 6-5-39 Abronia A) Flv adv. fr. Mission Beach. Common v prob same as 3-6-39. R.B.
