Calyx with very slender, obary pubescent exo. To- wards tip. Coroles 2 (1 of which only one seems to be developing). Most adv. ovary looks as though fork might be curved with long beaks. But guess is L. eriofoliusus Greene J553; M 350 (ford. var Neermanii Ottley as more common. 5-25-39 Micropus Californicus F.vM. J1061; M 538 Fr. Cuyamaca Lake with Thermopsis. Exactly as ill (T) and as desc (b except that R.B.T does not under- stand “receptacular bracts ---- tipped with scarious appendage” (M). Bracts now rounded over top.) This tip is the fork, the scarious lateral appendage shown in (T) Fig 9456 which R.B.T has been considering remainder of corolla. 5-25-39 Cryptantha Fl. on ridge pr. Inspiration Point. Perhaps only a form of C. intermedia Greene J848; M429. But effect dif- ferent from C. i- as seen elsewhere. Corolla tiny (less than 2mm diam). Nutlets 1.5 mm long, ovate, acute, def. papillae on back. Bristles on calyx somewhat tanney as fr. forms. Consider poss. ? some form of C. muricata Neel vs Maebe M430: C. muricula- ta Greene J848.
