5-20-39 gynobase (M) Nuclelets exceeded (by half their own length by what might be considered a nucle thickened style (dif from other C. studied up to now). But in fl. this member looks no different than style of another C. (species not yet determined col. near by). Corolla 3 mm diam. 5-20-39 Prunus demissa Dietr J506: P. virginiana L. var demissa Sarg M 341 FL Palomas Obs (also seen along road near Crestline). Suggests P.v— of the east but still looks different. Pubescence on hrs beneath on peduncles obvious to eye. 5-20-39 Gilia FL Palomas ? Prob at Crestline vals at Obx Very dif to ident. Strongly suggestive?) ?G. tenuiflora Benth var. carnifolia Munz M 394 J 5-25-39 Differs in that plants are shorter (6+in) with often several branchels from base (or with simple stems). Sts glabrous or with gland tipped hairs. St almost di-less. Basals pinnatifid or only toothed. Calyx 3 mm; corolla 15mm, its tube well exserted. Corolla in lobes coloring v genual look very like G J 5-25 tho no such def. spots found at base. Pedicels often 10-15mm Stamens not redif. unequal than in G J 5-25 (where inequality is very slight). In spite of dif. R.D.K. thinks this v G J 5-25 closely related varieties
