Plants w fhs look very much like under- nourished spcc. } S. m - (corollas 12mm long] Carpel hair beaks 1mm long with hairson tip. (as describ d m- ) Some fhs with somewhat small corolla had no pollen in anthers. (Only other poss tobe considered in this section Greene) See 4-16-39 which frequent spcc seen later. 5-20-39 ? Thalictrum fendleri Engelm T381; M173 F Bud. Palomar Obs. Diverions fhs lfts def gland-pub- screlent beneath leave no question of ident acc to (M). 5-20-39 Lotus Arigonus Greene var histellorcs Otley T551; M 258 FL v abd: fr. Palomar Crestline. Looks very much like L. a - (see 5-1-39) except for the soft not-appressed pubescence on st, hs, pod & calices. Seeds as in L. S- but (T) larger. [Frd same 5-25-39 Inspir- ating Point. 5-20-39 ? Cryptantles micrantha Johnston var lepidc Johnston T847; M 426 FL v fr. Palomar crest- line. Roots lower parts sat def reddish-purple (but when studied after 3 days in water no stain obtainable) St slender with few or almost no bract to infl where each fl is def bracted.(J) To do gynobase.
