Prob. near Obsvatory. (Name supplied by Mr. C. who likely got it from Ms G.) See 4-8-39. Spec not studied until 6-2-39. Stem then mostly reddish-brown with a thin, white exfoliating skin. Young growth very hairy. Lvs 1 cm long & cer- cainly finely dentate, the teeth gland-tipped. (What is wrong?) Fls blue. 5-20-39 Ceanothus Palmeri Trel M 301: C. spin- osus Nutt var Palmeri Tops J620. Fl. Palomas Crestline. Branchles green. Lvs entire, glabrous. Fls white. (Name supplied by Mr. Coel who likely got it from Ms G.) [5-25-39 Just past Flying Duplica- tion Point. Unquestionably the same as 5-20-39. Both spec. studied 6-2. 5-20-39 Pteridium aquilinum Kuhn var pubescens Underw. M9 = Pteris aquilina var lanuginosa Hook J30. Young growth. Palomas Crestline.
