5-20-39 "narrowed at small base" (M) and def ciliate along all upper margin except the final 2 mm at tip of lumen. (T). Pedicels "appressed pubescent" (T). Banner glabrous with only very few hairs on fold at lip or backs. (T) 5-20-39 Lotus crassifolius Greene J 578; M 257 Fl. Palomar (col. by Mr. Correll pers. at Crestline). Exactly as ill. (T) (R.B.K. had expected this to turn out to be an Astragalus) Fluodv. fl. 5-20-39 Ranunculus californicus Beetle J 387; M 175 prob. var ludovicianus Davis. Palomar. Obs. St defluousy with horizontal hairs esp. below. Hairs on upper parts just v loose less spiking Lvs most like ill "h" (T) but cut almost to base v ditto sharper. (but not as much so as ill (M)); more cut like ill "b" v "c" ) ill (T). Fls 13-17 mm diam. Petals many (from R) v oblong-nal as ill(T) (see 5-25-39 5-20-39 Stryx officinalis L. var fulvescens Murr et Th. J 759; M 373 Fl. Rd to Palomar (after turning off the Rin- con-lake Henshaw Rd) just above the Prism Camp. Lvs cordate in spec studied.
