"filed a claim in the name of the plaintiff, who was also a witness to the accident, and that she had been injured by the driver's negligence. She was then taken to the hospital, where she underwent surgery. The doctor said her injuries were serious but not life-threatening. He recommended that she rest for at least two weeks before returning to work. During this time, she will be receiving physical therapy to help her recover from the accident. In addition to her medical expenses, the plaintiff is seeking compensation for lost wages and pain and suffering. The defendant's insurance company has agreed to pay $50,000 towards these costs. However, the plaintiff believes that this amount is insufficient given the severity of her injuries. She is therefore requesting an additional $25,000 in damages. The case will be heard on Monday morning at 10 AM in Courtroom 4B. Both parties have been given until Friday to submit their final arguments. We look forward to seeing how this case unfolds.
