Mayhew 1960 Journal 46. May 22 Mojave Desert, San Bernardino Co., Calif. Phyllorhynchus decurtatus - 3 Sauromalus obesus - 4 (2 σ, 2 ♀) Crotaphytus collaris - 3 (2 σ, 1 ♀) Crotaphytus wislizeni - 5 (3 σ, 2 ♀) Cnemidophorus tigris - 5 (3 σ, 2 ♀) Uma scoparia - 34 (16 σ, 18 ♀) Sceloporus magister - 8 (4 σ, 4 ♀) May 26 Three animals of 14 species were caught. Palm Springs area, Riverside Co., Calif. Frank Aubrey and I left UCR in the car - all at 0745. We reached our collecting site at Windy Point, 3 miles N.W. of Palm Springs, at 0845. No wind was blowing in the area for a change. We looked for lizards from 0845 to 1115. Then we changed the left rear tire because it had sprung a leak. We ate lunch as we drove to Vista Chino Road in Palm Springs. We looked for lizards from 1115 to 1400 in this area. Two adult Hyla arenicolor were captured beside a running faucet and brought to Riverside for the field zoology lab. practical exam. We captured 15 Dipsosaurus dorsalis at this site that we kept, but we caught and released several others. After gathering a soil sample at this location, we left Palm Springs at 1410 and returned to Windy Point for another soil sample.
