the most noticeable being
rumplets, pigeon quellmots,
white myged krates and any
scoters In the afternoon it
was cloudy and fewer birds
were seen From 50 to 75 miles
north of Vancouver. a rumour
of bald eagles were seen about
all full plumaged birds
Arrived at Lund about 10.45
P.M.
July 14: Put out many traps
in swampy places near the land
pig. but found it difficult to
find traces of mammals Found
a few good runways in a patch
of mobs about 1/2 mile east
of the hotel and caught a couple
of shrews and a mink
Toward night Saw a chip
munk near the hotel early
in the morning but did not
secure it. Returning fairly Common
July 15: Got a few mammals
and shot some birds including
Sphyraptrius rubus. Ramed
a good part of the day. Spent the
afternoon working on specimens
Set more traps Telt covered me
and very favorable places
Country burnt all over.
