Neah Bay trash. June 12. Killed a flicker in the woods about a mile and a half east of the village. Saw its mate but was unable to get it. Spent most of the after- noon packing specimens June 13. Caught nothing of importance Packed specimens and worked a little on reports June 14. Took a long tramp through the woods east along the straits Did not kill much. to see much of note. Saw tracks of deer. in Heavy Shrubbed woods. June 15. Rained nearly all day. Saw a mourning dove near the village the first one seen in the region but could not secure it. Got a fine mint. June 16. Rained nearly all day but tried to hunt a little and shot six or nine birds. June 17. Another rainy day and not able to do much. June 18. Took up all traps finished packing specimens and took the boat in the evening for Seattle June 19. Arrived in Seattle about 4 o'clock and after expressing box and attending to other business took the train for Mt Vernon Arriving there shortly after 8.
