Barcelay May 4. Ascended the Ridge north of the divide to the summit saw nothing of note except a pine squirrel which I was unable to secure that some chipmunks and salamanders and left a line of traps in the caum near Barcelay in hopes to catch more Eutotomys. May 5. Took up all traps. Did not get Eutotomys but took microtus. Hiked up the caum just below Barcelay to Mr. Bullocks place that a large Dammer and S. Castanum. Took the afternoon train for Salt Lake City. May 6. Wrote Reports and packed specimens preparatory to taking the evening train en route to Seattle. Left at 7. P.M. May 7. Boarded. May 8. Traveled, arriving at Seattle at 11 o'clock and the evening May 9. Mr. Young took the evening boat for Neah Bay. As my baggage had not arrived and I could not do anything without it I concluded to wait in Seattle until it arrived and be sure of it.
