Wednesday July 7 Fixed up my specimens Not traps etc. Went down to Mr. Gresser's ranch. He is a N.W. landowner and has some heads and wings. He promised to try to get some sheep skulls which he has heard of. Thursday July 8 W. Mahogany Mt. Fixed up traps and left about 10 o'clock to ascend Mahogany Mt. Drew up a rock road nearly to the top and camped in a grilly beside a small spring After dinner went down into a wooded canyon west of our camp The trees are ash, cherry, catalpa, willow etc. The only timber on the ridges is Mountain Mahogany and a very little cedar - Set out a line of traps.
