Saturday Oct 11 To Head Blodwater Started at 9 o'clock and came southwesterly about 5 miles. Then left the valley The stream we have described Black River S.S. and crossed over a few ridges & which the Telegraph line about 11.30 just beyond we crossed Spraying Creek which as a stream about 50 feet wide a quarter of a mile beyond we came to a small clearing with a fur Indian home. This man the Chief Womminowch (The big Wolverine) He kills grizzly & black bear + more and last year killed 5 Caribou just before his house He has just come from near Kleptar where he made ground bring 50 good spears but has sent out the skins. Like tells me that they see deer miles in height Tuesday Oct 12 To 5 m. south Sth Cabin Left at 8.30 and came at 11 7 miles to 5th Cabin about 4 o'clock from camp are crossed the divide between Gas & Skeena water The divide is so low that a Creek which comes down from the east flows to either side and salmon sometime cross from one creek to the other At the divide we crossed to the west side of the valley and about 3 miles below came to 5th Cabin where we had dinner In the afternoon we descended Almanzest Creek from the lake (the same river (at cabin) about 5 miles and camped in big woods.
