Thursday oct 9 8 miles Across Groutlhy Left at 845 and climbed up the Tore at hutchelus for a flock of Wt ptarmigan and both Dors. Summit of pass 57 or 60 feet by aneroid About 3 1/2 mile across from timber to timber. Had dinner at hutch below and splinter Came 3 miles I camped near Horosfield. Saw Struck 2 mertens for 4 4-wcodel or Mountain Also 2 grov-logued who [illegible] hole for short distance Friday Oct 10 14 miles Left in Gostine and followed Groutlhy Creek southwestward. Reached Kendall [illegible] club at noon at about 3000 feet. Much alder in open places in valley. Timber very heavy, mealy, coniferous Mastenecin Rubus (whitafleod [illegible]) Rubus strigosum Rubus large white Vaccinium (large) Cornus canadensis Camp a little below 3000 feet
