many mallards goldeneyes and some other species winter at the outlet of the lake when the waters remain open. These are at the narrow Falta Lake when the currents keep the ice from forming. These last feet in the other Tahoe, Fallen & Stewart Lakes. The cross also winter at behind The ducks feed on Salmon eggs at dead salmon and are not good to eat. We saw both 2 much matter fisher shortly after leaving camp. Monday oct 13 To Skeena River Left at 9:30 and travelled along the road. Day fine sherry part of mountains. Reached a low mountain after about 3 miles and ascended it for 3 more. The trail preceded to 3800 and then was about 6 miles. I saw that we had dinner on the summit. Then we descended very slowly. Reached the half way cabin near the Skeena at 5 and camped close to the time a couple 7 miles beyond as 1900ft. No snow here. Dr. Croe went on to 7th Cabin from dinner camp. [illegible]
