Friday Sept 5 Across Skema River Left in good time and travelled in rain about 6 mile to the Skema fallon Mth of Sustut The trail strike the river at a Lomt when thin is a miniature Canyon and the remains of an Indian bridge This is said to have been built long ago by the Stoney and BearLake Indians who met by appointment and finished the Bridge in 7 days. It has not been out of commission about 25 years We carried our outfit heliways across the horses. Had dinner on 1 side and then took the trail towards Bearlake. It skirted around Nopim and skates the valley of the Sustut for a short distance and then began to climb the hills through Canyon J Skema about 15 or 20 mile and I reached my 4 mile at sta 3:00 at upper limit Saturday Sept 6 Sustut Valley We left fairly early and travelled about 17 miles in the valley of the Sustut though not near to Skema River. At about 3:07 pm came to a stream of red gurgly meadows and followed that all the afternoon camping late at 6:00 p.m. just west of from's Mt. arrived about on the other side. The man lasted rains These enclosures alternate with thickets of heavy timber with some devil's club, Jordan can Fracture J Moore core and calf. In dam till one he went (only one) to Europe red headed woodpecker (Cephalos) at Indala Lake 10 miles below leading a little bonus given since Mother north -> [illegible]
