Sunday Aug 17. Fort Baldwin Remained at Fort Baldwin Finishing up specimens & Cleaned up. Put out a Line of Traps Monday August 18. Babinie Forth Gaggs & Perrympecum and Shot a number of birds Engaged Dakotors to go with us to the end of the trip more plans to go on tomorrow [illegible] coyotes Thursday August 19. To Salmon Creek Left Babinie about 11 o'clock and Came about 12 miles camping a mile or so beyond Salmon Creek. The Trail led up over a hill through mixed woods and then descended past Halls Lake and Salmon Lake which outlet into Babinie Lake More up specimens more See track of Mule deer about 5 miles out of Babinie
