Friday August 15 To near Stump Camp Left our camp in Wb. N. of the Bobin Trail in afternoon and went down to trail and eastward about 14 miles to the forks of Bear River where we camped in good time. Saw a snake [illegible] and took a [illegible] of Franklin's grass Red squirrels are rather scarce, but reach to near timberline Saturday August 16 To Fort Bobina Went eastward on the Trail Had dinner on the summit east of Stump Camp. My Barometer read 4100 feet at highest point on trail. The actual demise is about 3900 feet. Country dry and burned one. Beyond the demise we descended rather abruptly and soon entered heavy coniferous timber. Spruce Fair and occasional stretches of Lodge pole pine. There is a very heavy growth of under- brush including Devil's club. We got to Fort Bobina rather late. It is situated on the eastern shore of Bobinahole, just above its outlet, and is quite a typical H.B. Post.
