Wednesday Aug 13 To butcheria N. of here Got away from camp rather late as the horses had gone bad, came about 8 miles along trail and had lunch at a creek Then with a few deer feeding up the creek valley to the North and followed it to Turbulus when we camped overnight a number of bats as shot some. Put out a few traps at Turbulus Thursday August 14. Camp at Turbulus Mr. Cram started early with Joe and went up on the hill to the North to look for sheep. I went up on ridge to look for camp. Observed a few Honey Marmots, Lemmings, Plentiful. Saw track of very large wolf near camp. On ridge saw some song finches and a white tailed plunger with young 3 sage 2 rusty quail. Luke came back lately and said he saw trout 7 gurgles, with foot Cuts on the side above camp. Mr. Cram returned with late and reported a very difficult day and no signs of sheep Josh some grouse and Corbongs at camp
