Wednesday July 18. Day passed in expectation much as yesterday. Both nomammans except Entomups of which I have plenty. Obtained a specimen of the small philippus found in Pat & lower Marungu R and called The Broken noose? Thursday July 19. Rose up my trips in the early morning but got with [illegible] any consequence. The steam finally arrived about 3 P.M. Having been detained 2 days in Great Plan Lake [illegible] Friday July 20. Spent the day in settling my accounts and getting ready to start with a skull said to be that I am returning from the Bank near the site of the C.C. Mission. Sat July 21. Rain commenced to fall in the early morning and it proved a disagreeable day to embark. We left about 3 and stopped for Mana about 20 miles down Husky River 12 miles from the Fort. Returned lastly in 8 miles before Reaching the meeting of the Rivers at 12 P.M.
