Smuley July 10. Obtained a few specimens and some information regard ing game animals. Mr. Firth tells me that many [illegible] skins used to be traded here when his father came here 30 years ago. They were brought in by Indians from East of the Moulungie. Wood deer are also occasionally taken during one year between 6 & 7000 marten rare killed here. Mourns are still killed within a few miles of the fort. One Indian killed 10 last winter. They [illegible] from them down In the deep snow as they are usually not sufficient to hunt them in the moral manner Monday July 11. For a few specimens, procured some plants and took some photos. The day was fine and cloudless. With no wind and the mosquitoes very bad Tuesday July 12. The Wrigley is now expected. Nearly and little is being done by any one. At 12 P.M. the sun was fully visible for the last time.
