Apatela Suprans. Egg on glass - June 29. Hatched July 6. .Fed readily on poplar. Somewhat slender. Light green w. tufts of stiff blackish hairs. On 1,4,7,8,11 a transv & s.d. band? Dorsal band? Head greenish yellow, hairy with a few brownish spots. Set. tub. black small. - 2. 2.5 mm. First moult- July 13 Pale bluish green. The dorsal wart is prominent from blackish, and forming rudimentary of two dorsal rows of points. A sub. dorsal row of blackish tubercles and two smaller lateral ones. Head greenish with large reddish black patches. - 2. 4.5 mm. Second Moult July 17 (Thursday) Bluish green. A dorsal white line. Large lozengy shaped patches on 4,7,11 extending to middle of adjacent segs. Except post on 4. A smaller somewhat rectangular patch
