Suprastigmal one. Whole lateral portions very pale purplish thickly powdered with black atoms (under glass). A yellowish tubercle bearing several brownish hairs just above behind and below the blade stipules, and another much larger one at base of leaves. A fine dorsal yellowish line on 1-3 and a transverse row of tubercles bearing long yellowish brown hairs there on 1 projecting horizontally forward. Head dull red post fading into dull black and: An anvil shaped anterior mark. Prolegs black. L. 35mm. Cocoons Sept 20-31. 7 specimens on Apple. Determined from drawing and by Riley -
