Mar. 20. 13 I was awak and up early and had tea and wash in my room, breakfast later and then I did my final packing, It has been rainy much all of the forenoon, was forced to read the Sat. Evening Post and play solitairs to fill the time, Wandered down to the club and began the old thing of shaking dice for the drinker which was broken up by the Transport "Merritt" coming in at noon, Walked down to the wharf and then back to the hotel for tiffin. Got my luggage down without any rain and then Dr. Clark, a friend of Ballin's [illegible] and I went back to the club and they came meet drinks until time for the Transport to sail. Said good bye to the former. We sailed soon after 5: Major & Mrs. Simmons brought me some brans for dinner, Watched a bridge game in the evening & got to bed about 11.
