Frid. Feb. 19 Got up at midnight thinking it was morning: found the cookers cooking their stew and I wrote "Barnfield", looked at my watch and then went back to bed. Got up before daylight, did some last packing and eating breakfast to: gether, and I got off with my cookier at about 8.30 with Sumpah and my boy. Did some collecting and found the river rather high but Sumpah helped me wade where it was very swift. Stopped at the big rock and had some lunch in the sunshines. Never been so pleased with the idea of lying at Thian alone. Reached Thian at about 1.30, had some tea and rice and began to settle the things when the blemens blew in. The greatest disappointment since I began my trip. Had to change my things around the old regime of living a convenience to the blemens. Begun again. Had an early dinner, a smoke at my front doors and then bed. Not much at all happy
