150 Sat. Nov. 20 I was awake very early and had a smoke while the day came in rainy and cloudy. My house- keeping for the family began again. I put in the the morning going through my presses and taking out a lot of dry things. They looked better than I expected. I had just finished up this work when Mr. Brockenbury, D.C. from Photo Belad arrived. I stopped my work for a visit with him and to look after the tiffin. Then I put up my plants that I collected the day before and finished that up at about 3.30. It has been a shivery sort of day, raining off and on. I gave up the rest of the afternoon to visiting with Mr. B and lurking after the culinary department. Mr. B. contributed soup, cured fish to our course dinner and I fried some mush. B. and I had a little chin over some Whiskey and water before going to bed.
