148 Thurs, Nov. 18 Did not sleep very well last night and was up at day- light. Soon after breakfast the chaplain, Sampath, my boy and I started over to see the falls of the Madamayan near us. We collected some on the way but I did not get a very good view. Left the chaplain and Sampath and I went up until we struck the Rambranga trail and then back to Lobang at about noon just a head of the rain. The chaplain came in later soaking wet. Had some porridge x milk for lunch. Put my plants in press in the afternoon and then began my packing up. Have been very happy ever the idea of going to Khasi for a week alone; the blemmers deciding to stop at the Lobang camping. As usual I waited supper for the chaplain until after candle light. Thank God it is my last night under present conditions
