140 Thurs. Nov. 11 We are camped for several days and all our work is long for the new elevens We are with Pake-Rho: I long for the new elevens I could not sleep last night and was up early and after a cold break fast I got into my wet clothes and at 7.30 it's gloomier and I left at 7.30 and the captain our police from White Island looked after the civillians. We got to Town- burragan at about 10 and made a little slip and found some interesting things. The elevens left one there and I moved on slowly, and soon the rain came on and as I went higher up I got very cold and had much difficulty in climbing and getting my breath. I saw many interesting things but was so cold and wet that I did not care for plants. I sat down in the rain and ate my lunch in the rain then felt better and reached Pake- Paka at about 4. Things were very wet but I had dry clothes and soon felt better. "Banfield" was alone up and made a great fuss, said Shelock Babones, the Biplane landing mars was finished.
