Sun, Oct. 31 I was awake several times in the night with different noises and got up at six and walked at the village spring. Bought some very good bananas this morning; bought oranges & pomelo yesterday. After breakfast while the Lolemens were having family prayers I went for a little walk and collected a few ferns and a brinco It looks like a rainy day and the clouds cover King Baler. Put my plants in press and showed "Bainfield" how to change shirts. We had a picked up lunch and then I walked a little way towards Baring and collected some of the old familiar ferns and one orchid in fruit. Our "public reception room" has visitors all the time. Bought a chicken and are planning for a real dinner. "Bainfield" our cook turned us out a really fine dinner to which we did justice. Then I had my siesta and went to bed with my brother Mr.
