Aug 16 To spring from rock house where I spent night to fill canteen then back into palm grove, went through, part didn't few days ago but within there but 2 or 3 sparrow hawks & the usual birds & Redtail near spring I goalt making big racket present Time. Nearly every pine in palms or near them (dozens) had 1 or more nut-hatchers shot several molting as an all other birds. Some of the junco's about through in fresh feathers are very pretty seem brighter cleaner at pines than in Cypress grove
