After walked by time walked within 15 feet of flicker sitting on a dead pole fallen against another live tree shot 12 feet up lowest backed off, took out #6 shell Got out any + shell & shot # Other flew a short ways left out 7 sights & went that way but bird flew behind me hard shot the trees missed with #12 load an hour later came that way and near there a flicker flew from ground hopped from limb to limb getting higher I shot found several big grubs & cut larvae in stomach first one had butts & also had larvae in stomach Kingleys still marble song Sometimes the molting birds with large organs skinned
