Mon. July 27 (wet) was collected as a specimen tonight.

Johnston Island — Red-Tailed Tropicbird —
17 nests were found on Johnston today,
3 of these nests had hatched young,
1 had large young (21 days plus), 8 small
young (10-20 days old) + 5 eggs. For the
first time one nest was found along the
south side of the west pathway; had a
small young (10-20 days of age). Data as
follows: note: 2 nests were destroyed.

Wedge-tailed Shearwater — 1 bird found incubating on
Fairy Tern — Population remains at approximately 25 birds (1 young).
White-tailed Tropicbird — 3 observed today.
Sand Island — Laughing Gull — one flew
over sand in an easterly direction about
5 PM. It was a 2nd year plumaged bird.
Three sooty terns were harassing it up
