3/24 Got a mess robins 17 & 1 rat- bit at night. 3/4 more robs. 3/5 2 robs. 3/8 3 robs. 1, 1 pigeon from house over 3rd story. Wounded female.[illegible] 3/10 Sat. got 15 sheels. 1 rarid, got him with another, at a double shot; all hot shots; flew too high & missed 3 X quit. Getting wilder every day roosting in lots around B.Y. Ave. & Pearl St. Got another double shot but took an- other sheel 2 kill 1 bird wounded. Are so fary now they fly across Smiths to roost & not across carrot patch in former quantities. Saw allens-or- Refous Summers for a week. Goldfinches not thick yet. Blackbirds roosting on B.Y. Road pines for 3d year. Snowbirds common last 2 days. 3/14 grobs with 14 sheels. 5 Am. goldf. with 1 shell, all shot in head, #9 shot.
