on wing in berto. Should have killed,
last 4 shots. 14th arizona g. on wing
in berto & 15th lost on wing. lost 9 out of 16 shots. Saw a lone
wild pigeon by stable 4 p.m.
12/31 1 rarida robin, 3 quail in
berts all on wing, & brought down
2nd bbl lost. Got 3 1st with 1st
bbl. rail that got up & flew from me
but missed 5 birds that got up in
front of me & flew towards me,
couldn't get on to their curves, as
each made a wide detour in flying
for lawn. Used some Shultz & some
black powder. Dog worked well.

1/7 Got 2 robin fired 9 shots 11 to
12 A.M. I used brass shells, my
own loading. Lost 1 rob. on fly
afc trees & 7 more on other trees
wasn't poor marksmanship either
