52 1899. Feb.-9. Found a House Finch roosting in an old house which had part of one win- dow out. March-16. Saw a male Brewer's Blackbird pick up a stick and fly off with its mate who was near. They must have commenced nesting. March-29 All Brewer's Blackbirds and House Finches seen seem to be in pairs. May-8. Sometime since I saw a Crow chase away an Eagle from near the nesting site of the Crows. Saw a male Brewer's Blackbird feeding its young. Also saw both male and female House Finch feeding young. The male bird observed quite closely. He seemed to cheer
