jan-15. Several Thrashers heard singing today. Two kept singing while I was within twenty feet of them. Several new notes heard from the principal singer. One of very low pitch of a guttural character.
The song lasted once fifteen seconds but generally five, six, or seven, sometimes nine or ten frequently only one or two notes. Intervals between strains also irregular and generally about the same duration as song but sometimes lasted a minute or two. Above note taken at Watsonville.
