Watsonville. spring plumage. The feathers were bright. The yellow area was extensive and he had a broad transverse breast plate of black. A pair of Golden Eagles have been seen about a herony for the past month or two evidently with the intention of nesting in the vicinity. They kept the Great Blue Herons away for some time but afterwards capitulated in favor of the latter who immediately took possession A good many Steller's Jays (?) have been seen and one was heard today uttering the shrill ery of a Wh.
