immense size and no doubt adults. Although I saw an occa- sional W.M. Meadowlark while coming up the Salinas Val- ley, they did not become common until I had reached the vicinity of Chualar. The same is also true of the Crow. It is strange that I saw so few birds along the road I traveled. Here in Watsonville I see a great many Night Herons Dear Tynan's Lake where I am working. They come out from the Hules into the fields just about sunset. At King's City I saw an Audubon's Warbler alight on the side of a telegraph pole. I had never before seen them in a similar position.
